Abstract
1,188,368. Counters. H. MULLER and S. MULLER, [trading as J. HENGSTLER, K. G. ZAHLERFABRIK]. 29 June, 1967 [21 Jan., 1967], No. 29983/67. Heading G4D. Operation of a setting key to adjust a presettable counter is ineffective unless the counter has first been restored. With the reset yoke 3 inoperative, depression of a setting key 5 brings the left-hand side of pivoted pawl 6 against the end 9 of a bridge 8, so that the pawl 6 is swung into clockwise position, where it is held by a spring-pressed ball detent 7. The pawl 6 is thereby held clear of the associated numeral wheel 1. If, however, the counter is first restored by operation of yoke 3, which cams bridge 8 counter-clockwise then the pawl 6 remains in its counter-clockwise position and engages the teeth 2 of the numeral wheel when the setting key 5 is depressed. In a modification (Figs. 6-12, not shown) the pawl may be movable horizontally into or out of the path of the teeth of the numeral wheel.
