Abstract

1,185,110. Predetermined count. H. MULLER, and S. MULLER, [trading as J. HENGSTLER K. G. ZAHLERFABRIK]. 29 June, 1967 [30 July, 1966], No. 29982/67. Heading G4D. A presettable counter can be adjusted only when it is in zero condition. The numeral wheels 15 with conventional zeroizing mechanism comprising a hammer 13 and cam 14 are secured frictionally to associated gears meshing with adjusting gears 12. In normal operation a U-shaped bar 3 embracing all the gears 12 is spring-pressed clockwise (Figs. 1, 4) to prevent downward movement of any adjusting key 8 and its associated pawl 10. At the end of a count, however, depression of a resetting key 1, via projection 1a, depresses lever 5 to rock lever 3a and bar 3 counterclockwise. Subsequent depression of a setting key 8a acts through pawl 10 to step adjusting gear 12 and so alter the associated numeral wheel by one. Several steps may be made successively by locking the resetting key in depressed position through latch 19, Fig. 5. Normal resetting may be done electrically.
