Abstract
1,186,032. Drag-link yarn guides. PALITEX PROJECT-CO. G.m.b.H. 17 May, 1967 [17 May, 1966; 22 April, 1967], No. 22906/67. Heading D1D. The braking force exerted by a drag-link on a yarn being unwound from a bobbin is variable magnetically. In Figure 1 the drag link 12 is mounted on the spindle end 9 and has a magnet 15 that cooperates with a magnet 16 in a carrier 17 that is axially adjustable to vary the force with which the link rests on a friction disc 10. The carrier may be locked in its axial position which may be indicated by graduations. Other embodiments are described in which a spring tends to separate the drag link from the friction disc. In Figure 6 the yarn is taken down the spindle from the drag link by way of spring loaded discs 42 that rotate with the link and have graduations to indicate their frictional effect on the yarn.
