Abstract

1,265,118. Thread tensioner. TEXMA MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. 12 June, 1970 [14 June, 1969], No. 28520/70. Heading DID. A thread tensioner comprises a weighted feeler lever 13 engaging the thread to sense its tension, the weight being arranged so that it can be displaced along the lever by electrical impulses. As shown, the weighted magnetic core can be displaced by selective excitation of coils 14. In alternative embodiments, (a) the weight comprises three coils movable by excitation thereof along the lever which contains a plurality of short magnets (Fig. 3), (b) the weight is threaded onto a rod which can be rotated by a step motor (Fig. 4). The feeler lever can act as a brake on a pulley 8 or discs over which the thread runs.
