Abstract

1318746 Braking yarn packages WHK PRODUCTS Ltd 9 Aug 1971 [8 Aug 1970] 38324/70 Heading D1J The package 17 and a pulley 12 are both freely rotatable on the spindle 10, the package 17 and pulley 12 being interconnected by resilient means 15. To brake the system a loaded belt 13 hangs on the pulley 12. In use, as yarn is drawn from the package 17, the spring 15 is wound up until the tension in the spring overcomes the friction between the belt 13 and the periphery of the pulley 12. As the package is unwound, if the yarn temporarily becomes slack, the coil spring will unwind by an amount sufficient to take up the slack.
