Abstract

1,183,053. Fuel injection pumps. C.A.V. Ltd. July 28, 1967 [Aug.15, 1966], No.36414/66. Heading F1A. In a fuel injection pump of the type in which a variable volume chamber 117 is charged with fuel from a feed pump the delivery pressure of which varies in accordance with the driven speed, and in which the chamber is discharged to the injection pump cylinder on the intake stroke thereof by the movable wall member 120 acted on by feed pump pressure, the wall member being engageable with a stop 151 to limit the maximum quantity of fuel which can be delivered to the injection pump, the stop has a resiliently loaded portion 153 which stops the member 120 at low speeds but is pushed back until the member 120 engages the stop 152 at high speeds. In a modification the portion 153 is carried on the member 120.
