Abstract
1,176,944. Solid fuel fired stoves and boilers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 26 May, 1967 [1 June, 1966], No. 24458/66. Headings F4A and F4W. A solid fuel fired domestic heater adapted to be set in a wall 30 includes a partition 10 between the combustion chamber 1 and a flue 17, the said partition comprising an air duct 13 having outlet apertures 16a, 16b and 16c into the combustion chamber and flue. The combustion air is supplied by fan (31) (Fig. 2), and air to be heated is supplied by a further fan to passages 29. A front door 19 is provided with a transparent panel 22 and inner panel 23 of transparent strips. Combustion air is also supplied to the space between the panels 22, 23. The heater may be modified to heat water (Fig. 4) by the provision of 25 upper passages 25; around the flue 17 and in a further modification (Fig. 5) a movable angle plate on the inner side of the door normally seals off an opening connecting the top of the combustion chamber to the flue 17, but exposes this opening when the door is open so that the combustion gases are sucked into the flue.
