Abstract

1,175,514. Mixing liquids; contacting liquids; precipitating gelatine. KODAK Ltd. 9 March, 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 10721/66. Headings B1C; B1F and B1X. Apparatus for mixing or reacting fluids comprises a tube 11 with a transverse tube 13 the ends of which connect with outlets coaxial with the tube 11. As described a gelatine solution is passed through the tube 11, acidified sodium sulphate solution is introduced at 20, and distilled water at 17; the latter is emitted from an annular outlet which surrounds the sodium sulphate outlet, forming a protective screen and preventing mixing of the reagents, and precipitation of gelatine until they are mixed by turbulence downstream of the outlets.
