Abstract

1,164,519. Toluylene diisocyanates. INSTYTUT CHEMII OGOLNEJ. 19 July, 1967 [19 July, 1966], No. 33117/67. Heading C2C. Toluylene diisocyanates are produced from dinitrotoluenes by a method comprising reducing dinitrotoluenes in liquid phase with hydrogen at elevated temperatures and pressures in the presence of catalysts and in o-dichlorobenzene as solvent and after separating the catalyst and freeing from water by distillation, treating the reaction mixture with phosgene by known methods in the same reaction medium.
