Abstract
1452466 Production of aniline CHEMOPETROL 4 April 1975 13867/75 Heading C2C A process for the production of aniline comprises catalytically hydrogenating nitrobenzene in the gaseous phase in a first processing step from which heat of reaction is withdrawn and continuing the hydrogenation in a second processing step without withdrawal of heat. In a preferred embodiment the first processing step is carried out at from 160‹ to 400‹ C. and is continued until from 70 to 99À9% by weight of the nitrobenzene is converted to aniline and the second step is continued to obtain the maximum possible conversion of the nitrobenzene.
