Abstract

1,164,320. Two-for-one twisting apparatus. PALITEX PROJECT-CO. G.m.b.H. 14 Nov., 1966 [1 Dec., 1965], No. 50853/66. Heading DID. In a spindle assembly for a two-for-one twisting machine having a spindle rail extending along the machine on which spindle units are seated, each unit comprises a ring 6 supporting a cylindrical balloon limiter 15, the ring having lateral locating means 7 to engage, and be connected to, the corresponding surfaces of adjacent rings, or, in the case of a ring at the end of the rail, with a supporting column, (9, Fig. 1, not shown) to be secured to the rail, the ring also having lugs 10 for a separator 13 to be fitted between adjacent rings. Each ring has a threading slot 6a, a recess 20a for the countermagnets which cooperate with other magnets to hold the package stationary, and an internal ledge to support the limiter. The surfaces 7 have bores 8 for bolts to connect one ring to the next or to the column 9. The separators comprise U-shaped plates; the lower arm 11 of each has lugs 12 cooperating with the lugs 10, and the upper arm 14 has a flange 14a from which depend pins 16 received in a plastics member 17, fitted between the arms of the separator and resting between two adjacent rings. Each plastic member has curved sides to engage associated limiters. Each of these has a threading-slot 21; when this is made to register with the ring- slot 6a, threaded pins 22 extending outwardly from the limiter engage slots 23 in the ring. The rings are supported at the appropriate height on the rail by the columns 9 .and by lugs 24 depending from alternate separators.
