A form supporting a knitted garment comprises a carrier having a telescopic stand 2 supporting a pivotal cross piece 4 and form wires 6. To insert the form into the garment, e.g. a pullover, cross piece 4 is pivoted to lie alongside the stand 2 and inserted into the neck of the garment. The bottom of the garment is closed e.g. by sewing and dying proceeds.
