1,159,391. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. BREES PLASTICS Ltd. 16 Jan., 1967 [5 Feb., 1966; 25 Feb., 1966], Nos. 5134/66 and 8423/66. Heading B8N. [Also in Division F1] A dispensing unit for attachment to an appliance, e.g. a telephone receiver, to dispense sterilizing fluid comprises a container 11 for sterilizing fluid mounted within a casing 5 and movable therein by means of a button 9 to actuate a container metering valve in communication with a casing outlet 6. The metering valve, Fig. 5 (not shown), has a valve stem (26) which is moved inwardly of the valve body (22) to place the metering chamber (25) in communication with a plastics dispensing tube (7), Fig. 1 (not shown), fitted into the casing outlet. The button 9 acts on the container it through a leaf spring 17 engaging a fixed ledge 15 projecting from the casing 5 and a yoke member 14 carries by the container. The casing is attached to the telephone receiver by means of stirrup-shaped members (43, 44), Fig. 2 (not shown), which are mounted on a rod (42) in the casing. One of the stirrups (44) has a sleeve (46) in screw thread engagement with the rod (42) which is rotated to clamp the stirrups to the receiver.
