Abstract

1,099,003. Syringes. BOSTIK Ltd. March 12, 1965 [March 16, 1964], No.10548/65. Heading F1R. A device for dispensing thermoplastic material comprises an insulated handle 2 enclosing a heating element 4 having an extension 6 for heating and supporting a member 14 fitted with an insulated sleeve 16 opening to a chamber 26 having a spring- loaded outlet valve 30. A block of thermoplastic material T inserted in the sleeve 16 may be pushed into the chamber 26 by the thumb of the hand holding the handle 5. The end of the block is melted in the chamber 26 and the block acts as a plunger to discharge molten material through the valve 30. A cut-away portion 34 of the sleeve 16 allows easy insertion of a further block of material.
