Abstract

1,119,149. Flexible tube pumps. G.S. HAVILAND. Oct. 17, 1966 [May 19, 1966], No. 46325/66. Heading F1F. [Also in Division B8] A dispensing apparatus comprises a resilient flexible tube 42 adapted to be compressed during dispensing by means of a pair of rollers 40 carried by a cover 14 which is rotatable in a housing 10 by means of a lever 22 via a one-way clutch 36. The tube is inserted through a spigot 48 adapted to fit into a container and wound within the housing, the outlet end of the tube then passing through an extension 50; a nozzle is fitted in the outlet end. The one-way clutch is in the form of a spring secured at one of its ends to the cover and, at its other end, to a cap 28 connected via a sleeve 18 to the lever 22. In operation, the lever 22 is moved until an adjustable stop 66 abuts a projection 64, the cover then being rotated via the clutch so as to cause the rollers to compress the tube and thereby dispense a measured quantity determined by the stroke of the lever.
