Abstract

1157189 Lubricating DAIMLER-BENZ A G 4 May 1967 [5 May 1966] 20729/67 Headings F2A AD20 A6E2 A200 A211 and A212 A lubricating arrangement comprises a groove 10 in the running surface of a big-end bearing which communicates with ducts in connecting rod 6 of an I.C. engine and on inward movement of the piston also communicates with supply ducts 13, 14, 15 in a crank-shaft journal 5. Groove 10 communicates via holes 11, 12 with groove 9 and hence ducts 8, 7 supplying the small end bearing. On outward movement of the piston, ducts, 13, 14, 15 in the journal are at the side of the bearing opposite to the groove 10.
