Abstract
1,155,150. Break spinning. SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 13 Nov., 1967 [17 Nov., 1966], No. 51439/67. Heading D1D. In a break spinning apparatus which includes a rotating spinning chamber 2 and a fibre inlet tube 51, a vibratory movement is imparted to the length of yarn extending between the mouth 32 of the yarn outlet tube 31 and the fibre combining point E on the fibre ring R to reduce the bearing pressure of the tube mouth 32 on the yarn. The vibratory movement may be obtained by (1) oscillating the outlet tube axially (Fig. 1) or transversely by means of a motor driven arm 33, (2) arranging the tube mouth eccentrically of the chamber (Fig. 11), (3) vibrating. the thread itself e.g. (Fig. 19) by vibrating a deflecting withdrawal roller 300 mounted on an arm 331 which is attracted periodically by an electromagnet 360, or (4) irregularly shaping the outlet tube mouth, e.g. inclining it to the longitudinal axis (Fig. 4), providing a projection or groove at the mouth edge. The vibration frequency can be altered by varying the relative rotational speed of the outlet tube and the spinning chamber. Option (2) can be obtained by mounting the outlet tube in a rotatable insert 113, the inserts of a plurality of similar spinning chambers being collectively displaced by means of a rack engaging-toothed wheels 113 on the inserts.
