1,148,769. Hydraulic and toggle presses. W. REIS. 27 Oct., 1966 [20 Nov., 1965], No. 48177/66. Heading B5F. [Also in Division B3] A press comprises a fixed lower platen C and an upper platen B fixed to a slide A which is reciprocated in guides by an hydraulic cylinder D connected to the slide below the lower platen. The upper platen B may be adjustably fixed on the slide A, Fig. 3 (not shown), and an hydraulic cylinder (L) may be mounted on the platen B to form a doubleacting press, Fig. 7 (not shown). An hydraulic ejector M may be fixed in the platen C, Fig. 8 (not shown). The cylinder D may be horizontal and connected to the slide by a toggle linkage, Fig. 11 (not shown). A pair of hydraulic cylinders (D), Fig. 8 (not shown), may be mounted sideby-side below the lower platen.
