Abstract

'[Also in Division D1] Steel reinforcing rods for concrete sections are connected by flexible elements which enable the rod spacing to be varied. The reinforcing rods may be' separate rods, a plurality of rods spaced in another 'direction by rigid means, or a reinforcing mat. The flexible elements may be welded, clipped, or wound round the bars as attachment and have flexibility due to bends in the wire or strip elements. The flexible elements may be extendel to act as supports for the reinforcement. In one embodiment circular bars are joined by helical wires, as reinforcement for a pipe, the distance between the bars being set by relative rotation.
