Abstract

1,033,130. Straps and bands. A.B. TEXTILKONST. Nov. 2, 1964 [Nov. 1, 1963], No. 44569/64. Heading A4X. [Also in Division B5] Overlapping portions of elastic or stretchable webbing, strapping or like ribbon material 1 (Fig. 1) or 1, 8 (Fig. 3) are secured together by a main joint 3 and a supporting joint 4 longitudinally spaced therefrom and are unattached in the zone 5, 6 between the joints 3, 4. The intermediate strap portion 5 on the loaded side of the joint is shorter that the associated overlapping portion 6 whereby when the shorter portion 5 is stretched to the length of the other portion 6 some load is transferred from the main joint 3 to the supporting joint 4. In one embodiment (Fig. 1), the strap end is formed into a loop 2. In another embodiment (Fig. 3), two straps 1, 8 are secured together by a main joint 3 and two supporting joints 4, 9 spaced from and on opposite sides of the main joint 3. The joints may comprise stitching, glueing or welding.
