Abstract

838,983. Hurdles. CURRIE, J. C. Aug. 6, 1958 [Aug. 26, 1957], No. 26805/57. Class 45. To lessen the danger of damage to horses during jumping, the hurdle rail is covered with a strip or strips of yielding material such as foam or sponge rubber. As shown, strips e are secured by an adhesive to a fabric f which passes around rail a and has its overlapping ends secured together. A single wide strip e or two strips may be used, and an adhesive faced fabric may pass around the outsides of the strips to clasp them to the rail. The uprights carrying the rail may similarly be protected, the strips being cut away to allow the rail to be placed into position.
