Abstract

1,032,001. Pneumatic conveyer ducts. VOKES Ltd. March 4, 1965 [March 13, 1964], No. 10705/64. Heading B8A. A pneumatic tobacco feed system comprises a duct 1 supplied from a feeding station, a branch connection dividing the one duct 1 into two ducts 2, 3 which are selectively influenced by suction induced by a fan, the branch connection including a cranked leg of sufficient volumetric capacity to contain tobacco returned on inadvertent reverse flow on cessation of suction in the branch duct 3. The branch connection comprises a flat top 7 hinged as a door with a clip 9, a back wall 5 having an exterior angle less than 170 degrees to the wall 4 of the duct 1 and a front wall 6 between the two ducts 2, 3 and presenting a smooth semicircular contour to the tobacco inlet.
