Abstract
1,110,273. Pneumatic conveyers. S. OKA. 18 June, 1965 [19 June, 1964], No. 25834/65. Heading B8A. [Also in Division F2] A transport pipe in a system in which powder or grains are transported in a current of air has a bend of which the cross-sectional area is enlarged gradually from the initial part 2 of the bend to the final part 3 thereof over the length of the bend. The bend is connected at one end to a vertical pipe and at the other end to a pipe which makes an acute angle with the horizontal and which is reduced gradually in cross-sectional size in a direction away from the bend. The radius of curvature R 2 of the inner surface of the pipe adjacent the outside of the final part of the bend is smaller than the radius of curvature R 1 of the inner surface of the pipe adjacent the outside of the initial part of the bend.
