Abstract
1,029,198. Clamps. E. BADRE. Sept. 11, 1963 [Sept. 14, 1962; June 29, 1963], No. 35810/63. Headings E2A and E2B. A clamping device for fastening for example corrugated roofing plates to I-section beams, channel irons &c., comprises a U-shaped element having a long leg b (Fig. 1) and a short leg a, the long leg having an inwardly directed laterally retaining flange f and a threaded hole c for a fastening bolt the end V of which presses against the beam to provide the clamping action. The leg b may be stepped as shown Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 (not shown) or it may not be parallel to the leg a (Fig. 8). Instead of a threaded hole, there may be a square or rectangular hole (Fig. 8) to accommodate the head of a bolt having a square section neck, in which case the bolt does not bear on the beam. A further alternative form of clamp particularly for attaching corrugated plates to I-section beams or T-bars is shown in Fig. 6.
