Abstract

1,026,738. Toothbrushes. WATSON & BYRNE Ltd. Nov. 26, 1964, No. 48088/64. Heading A4K. A tufted bristle brush or other tooth cleaning appliance has finely divided dentifrice adhesively secured to the bristles or to the whole brush head. Preferably, the part to which dentifrice is to be secured is dipped in or sprayed with an aqueous solution of gelatine and, when this is tacky, is dipped in or subjected to an air blown jet of finely powdered dentifrice. When dry, the brush may be sealed in a container of transparent thermoplastic material. The amount of dentifrice taken up by the head may be increased by providing cavities 6, 7 and 8. The ingredients of a suitable dentifrice are given and reference is made to appliances produced by a one-step moulding operation which are intended for single use only.
