Abstract

A toothbrush is closely confined, with a charge of toothpaste on its bristles, in a blister pack, for emergency one-time use. It may be less than normal size, for example 6-8 cms in length.

Description

Improvements relations to Toothbrushes This invention relates to toothbrushes.
Most people when travelling and expecting to stay overnight somewhere carry with them at least a toothbrush and some toothpaste, along with other toilet accessories.
However, there are occasions when one prolongs a visit unexpectedly only to realise that one is not equipped even to brush one's teeth. While many other things can be borrowed, a toothbrush is very 'personal'.
It is the aim of this invention to make it easier to avoid such embarrassment.
According to the present invention there is provided a package comprising a sealed enclosure containing a toothbrush with its bristles charged with a dose of toothpaste.
It is envisaged that the enclosure would most conveniently be a blister pack which can be torn open to release the single-use toothbrush. The blister would be moulded closely to confine the toothbrush and its toothpaste charge, so that the toothpaste would have little or no chance of coming loose because of the brush rattling around inside the package.
A single use item must be cheap, and so it is unlikely that the toothbrush will be full size. It may be only be 6 - 8 cms or so in length, just sufficient to reach to the back of the mouth. Thus the package will be of convenient size for a pocket or handbag, and it can be carried unobtrusively at all times, ready whenever the owner wants to "freshen up". It is not of course confined to overnight use; it may be used at any time, for example when travelling, at work, or prior to an evening out.
The package will be suitable for vending machines. It could also be a giveaway item in hotels, aircraft, sleeper trains, cruise liners and so on, and it could also serve as a promotional aid, for example to encourage the use of a particular brand of toothpaste.
Toothpaste can 'go off' after a time, and so the package will generally be marked with a 'use by' date.

Claims (3)

1. A package comprising a sealed enclosure containing a toothbrush with its bristles charged with a dose of toothpaste.
2. A package as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the package is a blister pack, the blister being moulded closely to confine the toothbrush and its toothpaste charge.
3. A package as claimed in Claim 1 or 2, wherein the length of the toothbrush is in the range 6-8 cms.
