Abstract
A bis-(aminophenyl)methane is converted to a stereoisomeric mixture of the bis-(aminocyclohexyl)methane (a), or a single stereoisomeric of (a) is converted to a stereoisomeric mixture, or a stereoisomeric mixture of (a) is converted to such mixture nearer the equilibrium position, by the action of H2 at a partial pressure thereof of at least 500 p.s.i. and at a temperature at least 180 DEG C. in presence of Ru and at least 1% NH3 based on the weight of the starting material. Preferably the product is bis-(4-aminocyclohexyl)methane.
