Abstract

1,018,099. Incandescent electric lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct. 7, 1963], No. 40244/64. Heading H1F. The lamp comprises a tubular envelope I of vitreous material closed at the ends by pinch seals 2, a coiled or coiled-coil filament 3 extending longitudinally of the envelope with its ends 4 embedded in the pinch seals, fusible members 7 interwound at one end with the filament and at the other end secured to the lead-in members 5. The lead-in members may have a foliated portion 6 and may be of molybdenum. The ends 4 of the filament may be straightened or, when the filament is a coiledcoil, may be in the form of a primary coil. The fusible members may be interwound with filament while this is still on the coiling mandrel.
