[Also in Division A1] A plant pot 18 formed of organic fibres is provided with a covering or coating of synthetic plastic material in the form of a closely fitting film which may be stripped from the pot when it is planted in the ground. To provide the covering the fibre pot is supported on a form 13 of air permeable material located beneath a sheet 60 of plastics material held between frame members 24, 26 supported on vertically movable rods 19. The sheet 60 is first heated in an oven 30 supported on wheels 35 and movable over the frame by means of motor 38. A treadle device is actuated to move rods 19 downwardly so that the frame 24, 26 moves into the position shown dotted. Box 51 is then lowered to cause the sheet 60 to adhere to the walls of the pot and valve means actuated to evacuate the interior 12 of the form.
