Abstract
1,012,151. Roller guides. DORMAN LONG (STEEL) Ltd. June 17, 1963 [June 18, 1962], No. 23428/62. Heading B3M. A roller type entry guide for a rolling mill comprises a generally cylindrical portion 10 in which are adjustably mounted two arms 14 and 15, each carrying a roller 23. The portion 10 itself is mounted in a housing number 11 having a cylindrical base, the angular position of the portion 10 being adjustable by screws. Screws having conical heads 38 project in gaps 16 between the arms and act as pivot points for the arms. Screws 40 and 43 as seen in place in Fig. 4 urge the arms against the heads 38 and permit lateral adjustment of the guide path. A screw 44 acts as an adjustable stop for holding the ends of the arms apart. Lubrication channels are provided from the ball bearings of the rollers to the outside of the portion 10, and apertures 49 and 50, Fig. 1, allow cooling water to enter the guide.
