Abstract
1,009,023. Hatch cover. H. BUCHANAN & CO. Ltd., and A. A. GRAHAM. June 24, 1964 [March 29, 1963], No. 12435/63. Heading B7S. In a hatch assembly comprising a cover 12 supported by wheels 13 which run along a platform 11 extending outwardly from the coaming 10, the platform is cut away at the locations where the wheels 13 are disposed when the cover 12 is fully over the hatch opening, each location being provided with a member 15 vertically movable from a raised position in which it fills said cutaway to a lowered position in which the cover (and sealing pad 14 thereon) rests on the coaming 10 to close the hatch, and wedges 21 are provided under the members 15 to maintain them in their raised positions. Each member 15 has a socket 22 for engagement by a lifting bar 20 which is passed through a fulcrum plate 19 secured to the underside of the platform 11.
