Abstract

1,008,134. Thermal switches. A. OZARNECKI. May 25, 1964, No. 21510/64. Heading H2B. In a kettle, coffee percolator or like vessel in which liquid is heated by a heating element 8, a thermostatic control means 9 is formed as an integral part of the element 8. As shown in Fig. 2 the thermostatic control means 9 comprises a bimetallic strip 12 carrying a contact 18 co-operating with a fixed contact 19 which is formed as the head of an adjustable screw 20. The bimetallic strip 12 is secured at 11 to the inner conductor 8a of the heating element 8 and a leaf-spring 15 acting on the bimetallic strip 12 through an insulating bead 16 biases the contacts 18, 19 towards their open position.
