Abstract

1,086,899. Washing bottles &c. NIHON SEIKOSHO KABUSHIKI - KAISHA, and ZAIDANHOJIN SEKITAN SOGO KENKYUSHO. Dec. 30, 1964 [Dec. 30, 1963], No. 52911/64. Heading B8T. An apparatus for washing bottles &c. comprises a cylindrical enclosure 20 containing a rotating holder member 10 having partition walls 12 forming compartments 14 for receiving bottles B to be washed, said bottles being supported therein by retaining annuli 38 and semicircular rings 40, one of each being provided for the number of bottles in each compartment. Shower nozzles N and n emit a warm washing solution into the compartments for washing the external and internal surfaces of the bottles respectively, said washing solution from said nozzles falling on to warm washing solution WS in the bottom of the enclosure which communicates with a reservoir T which returns the washing solution to the nozzles by means of a strainer 68 and a pump 72. An ultrasonic generator 78 and ultrasonic transducers UT provide an ultrasonic wave in the washing solution in the bottom of the enclosure. Dirty bottles B 1 are loaded through an inlet port 34 by a thrusting lever 62. As the member 10 rotates, the bottles first pass beneath the nozzles N, n where they are exposed to shower washing, then they are submerged in the washing solution in the bottom of the enclosure where they are exposed to ultrasonic washing, and finally they pass beneath the nozzles N, n for a further shower washing. Clean bottles B 2 are removed through an outlet port 36 by an ejector lever 64. The washing cycle can be repeated as many times as desired.
