Abstract

1,084,704. Fire-resistant doors. MATHER & PLATT Ltd. March 14, 1966 [May 25, 1965], No. 22046/65. Heading E1J. A fire-resisting door 10 comprises a hollow metal structure with opposed faces 11 between which are vertical channel members 15 and a non-flammable heat-insulating medium with a thermal conductivity value for one inch thickness greater than 0.38, measured as defined, e.g. slag wool in slab form. The members 15 are welded to one face at 16 and held in contact with the other by clips 17 welded thereto. The door is made of sheet metal pressings with flanges 12 secured together by a backing strip 13 welded thereto. The top and bottom of the door are closed by horizontal channel members.
