Abstract

1,205,110. Fire resistant doors. VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE METALLWERKE A.G. 8 Nov., 1968 [10 Nov., 1967], No. 53143/68. Heading E1J. A fire resisting door comprises a metal frame containing spaced parallel glass plates 1, 2 suspended from the top rail 3 of the frame by round steel pins 5 supported in a hollow boxtype spacer 4 secured to the rail 3. A spot welded steel wire mesh may be placed 'between the glass plates. The edges of the plates 1, 2 are embraced by fire-resisting edging strip 6, e.g. of metal and a sealing layer of asbestos 8 and the plates are free slidably to move in the edging strip. The rail 3 may store an asbestos mat which can be drawn down between the plates 1, 2.
