Abstract

1,080,001. Reciprocating pumps. ROBERT BOSCH G. m. b. H. Aug. 6, 1964 [Feb. 8, 1964], No. 31932/64. Heading F1A. In a reciprocating pump having a delivery valve 27, a non-return valve 53 is provided between the pump outlet and a pressure accumulator supplied by the pump and the pump suction is provided with an adjustable throttle biased in the opening direction by a spring and in the closing direction by the pressure downstream of the non-return valve 53. The throttle (92'), Fig. 3 (not shown), comprises a movable throttling member (91) connected to a piston (92) subject to the pressure in a chamber (72) which communicates with the bore 62 upstream of the valve 53, via radial bores 66, annular chamber 67, bores 68 and 69, groove 36, bore 70, annular groove 37 and a fixed throttle (71), Fig. 3, in the pump housing. The loading of the throttle biasing spring (100), Fig. 3, may be varied by rotation of a seat member (107). The plunger 21 within the pump piston 23 opens the delivery valve 27 at the end of the pump delivery stroke. The pump may have a plurality of pistons. A pressure relief valve (115), Fig. 2 (not shown), connects the pump delivery conduit upstream of the non-return valve with the suction conduit (78). The suction throttle (92'), Fig. 3, may operate a warning lamp or an electrically driven auxiliary pump should the pressure in the pump delivery drop excessively.
