1,078,550. Inverting. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 6, 1966 [May 11, 1965], No. 20144/66. Heading H2F. An inverter, having a thyristor 3, inductor 4, 5 and capacitor 6 in series across the D.C. supply 1, 2 and the load 7 connected across the capacitor, has the inductance reduced at least 20% (and preferably 50%) for the first period of conduction of the thyristor 3 by shunting part of it with a further thyristor 10. A singletapped inductor may be used (Fig. 2, not shown).
