Abstract

1,073,148. Winding yarns. INSTITUT FUR TEXTILMASCHINEN. Sept. 29, 1964, No. 39653/64. Heading DIJ. A machine for continuously winding thread 25, Fig. 2, on drum driven bobbins comprises a rotatable holder 1 carrying at least three bobbins 4, 4a, 4b distributed around its periphery, the arrangement being such that when one bobbin 4 is fully wound with a package 26 the holder 1 is advanced by a first step, Fig. 3 (not shown), so that the next empty bobbin 4a is brought into engagement with the drum 10 whilst the package 26 is still in engagement with the drum 10, and then by a second step Fig. 4 (not shown) that removes the package 26 from the drum 10 whilst keeping the bobbin 4a in engagement therewith. Each bobbin holder (2), Fig. 7 (not shown), is associated with a storage ring (27) and each bobbin 4 is formed with a thread gripping slot (31). When a package 26 is completed the thread 25 is removed from a main traversing guide (29) and placed in an auxiliary guide (30) that lays the thread on the storage ring (27) associated with the next bobbin 4a, to be wound. The thread 25 is subsequently transferred by the auxiliary guide (30) back to the main guide (29) and in this manner the thread is caught up in the slot (31) and winding commences on the new bobbin 4a.
