Abstract

1,062,660. Turbine stator blades. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G. m. b. H. June 26, 1964 [June 28, 1963], No. 26544/64. Heading F1T. In an axial flow turbine, which may be a gas turbine, radial clearances occurring, due to heat expansion, at the end of each guide blade of a stationary ring are eliminated by segments which are urged resiliently against the stationary ring from radially inwards and which are gurded radially, in a substantially gas-tight manner, in or on a stationary part. Segments 22, of T-shaped cross-section, fit closely within an annular groove 24 formed in a stationary wall 25 and are urged radially outwards by leaf springs 23 to bear against the inner free ends 27 of guide blades 15. Flexible gas-tight seals are provided between adjacent segments 22. The radially outer ends of the guide blades 15 are mounted in a carrier 14 which is itself mounted, with freedom for radial movement, in the turbine outer casing 13. The inner ends of the guide blades may be connected by a shroud band (not shown) in which case the segments 22 bear against this band.
