Abstract

1,059,060. Feet for stands. J. R. CLARK CO. Dec. 28, 1965 [Jan. 4, 1965], No. 54974/65. Heading A4H. An elongated foot member 24 (Fig. 1, not shown) has an integral mounting bracket 26 pivoted to the leg 10 of an ironing table by a nut and bolt assembly 27 for automatic adjustment on an uneven surface, or foot-operated knob 34 locking the foot member in adjusted position. A bolt 30 integral with the knob is journalled in the side walls of the bracket 26 and passes between jaws 17, 18 (Fig. 4, not shown) of a clip press-fitted into the lower open end of the leg. The bolt has flattened sides 35, which in one position of the knob slide between the jaws allowing adjustment of the foot, and threaded parts which, when the knob is turned through 90 degrees, wedge between and mesh with serrations 20 on the jaw 17 to lock the foot in adjusted position. Anti-slip friction tips 25 are provided.
