Abstract

1354593 Ladder attachment MARTIN & BOTTING DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 30 July 1971 [4 Aug 1970] 36005/71 Heading E1S An adjustable ladder foot attachment for supporting a ladder on sloping or uneven ground, &c, comprises a socket 2 in which the lower end of a ladder stile 3 is secured, and a leg 6 slidably retained by stirrups 5 extending from the socket 2, the contacting surfaces of the socket and the leg being formed with serrations 9, and the stirrups 5 carrying screws 7 to clamp the inter-engaging serrated surfaces together in a selected adjustment position of the leg 6. The socket 2 may be provided with screws and an adjustable clamping plate (not shown) to allow ladder stiles of various sizes to be secured therein. Movement of the leg 6 is limited by an abutment 11.
