Abstract

Apparatus for indicating which of two fluids is present at a number of different levels in a container has means for indicating failure if the heavier fluid is indicated to be at one level but not at a lower level. In the particular embodiment, probes in the container energize corresponding relays when in the heavier fluid. Each relay lights one of two lamps and controls contacts in a network which gives the failure indication if necessary. The failure indication is also given if the fluid-fluid interface is not within limits preset on switches incorporated in the network. Alternate probes and their relays may have different power supplies, there being two contact networks in parallel so either can give the failure indication.
