Abstract
1,052,576. Boring earth &c. LEE C. MOORE CORPORATION. May 21, 1965 [June 5, 1964], No. 21564/64. Heading E1F. A drilling apparatus comprises a draw works and gin pole structure mounted on a base, a reclining mast pivoted to the base and a line extending from the top of the pole structure to the travelling block so that operation of the draw works raises the mast. The line 15 is fixed at points 20 to the top of the pole structure and passes about pulleys 19 in the front part of the mast, pulleys 18 at the top of the pole structure, pulleys 17 at the bottom of the pole structure, and the hook 16 of the travelling block. The mast is raised by reeling-in the hoisting cable 9 on the draw works.
