Abstract

The knife of the cleaning device has the form of a driven flexible band (13) tensioned between two rollers (14 and 15) and bearing along the roller surface. It strips off the roller surface by means of a sharp hard edge. The band (13) can be a thin strip of spring steel. As a result of the travel of the stripping knife edge, the dirt is removed laterally from the roller surface, thereby guaranteeing, among other things, an effective cleaning of the roller surface and the possibility of cleaning and resharpening the knife edge while the card is in operation.
