Abstract
Perfeccionamientos en un proceso de producción de acero silícico electromagnético dotado de una orientación de cubo sorbre borde, cuyo proceso incluye las operaciones de preparar una masa fundida de acero silícico que contiene del 0,02 al 0,06% de carbono, del 0,0006 al 0,0080% de boro, hasta el 0,0100% de nitrógeno, no más del 0,008 % de aluminio y del 2,5 al 4,0% de silicio, vaciar el citado acero, laminarlo en caliente y en frío, descarburizarlo, aplicarle un revestimiento de óxido refractario y recocerlo a una textura final, cuyos perfeccionamientos comprenden las operaciones de recubrir la superficie de dicho acero con un revestimiento de óxido refractario consistente esencialmente en: (a) 100 parte en peso de, por lo menos, otra sustancia del grupo formado por óxidos, hidróxidos, carbonatos y compuestos bóricos de magnesio, calcio, aluminio y titano; (b) hasta 100 partes en peso de, por lo menos, otra sustancia del grupo formado por boro y compuestos del mismo, cuyo revestimiento contiene por lo menos un 0,1% en peso de boro; (c) de 0,5 a 50 partes en peso de sulfato de manganeso; (d) hasta 50 partes en peso de óxidos menos estables que el SiO2 a temperaturas de hasta 1176ºC, cuyos óxidos son de elementos distintos al boro; (e) hasta 40 partes en peso de SiO2; (f) hasta 20 partes en peso de sustancias inhibidoras o compuestos de ellas; y (g) hasta 10 partes en peso de agentes fundentes; y una recocción de dicho acero a su textura final con el mencionado revestimiento aplicado al mismo, teniendo tal acero una permeabilidad de, por lo menos, 1870 (G/Oe) a 10 oersteds y una pérdida de núcleo no superior a 0,720 watio por libra (453g) a 17 Kilogauus-60Hz.
