Abstract

Pressing appts. for a strand of textile fibres, comprises a funnel and two rollers pressing against each other in the zone of the funnel outlet. The funnel is formed by an inner section projecting into the wedge between the two rollers and an outer section in the form of a truncated cone, with a slot running through the central axis of the funnel. The width of the slot corresponds to the thickness of the rollers which engage with each other within the slot. Appts. prevents the strand from being condensed too severely. The strand cannot expand during compression and cannot form loops around the discs. Operating speeds of =500 m./min. are possible.
