Abstract

Los compuestos de fórmula contienen 4 átomos de carbono asimétricos en el penta-anillo. Sin embargo, también se pueden presentar ulteriores centros de asimetría, por ejemplo cuando R3 significa un resto alquilo ramificado con 5 - 10 átomos de carbono, ó 2-hidroxialquilo con 5 - 10 átomos de carbono, o cuando R5 significa alquilo ramificado con 5 - 10 átomos de carbono, o -CnH2nC00R6 ramificado. Los compuestos de fórmula I se pueden presentar por lo tanto en un gran número de formas esterecisómeras; se presentan por regla general como mezcla racémicas junto con sus imágenes simétricas.
