Abstract
A procedure for the production of a reactive derivative in the carboxyl group of 2,3-dioxopiperazine of general formula (I): **(See formula)** where R2 and R3 are attached to the same carbon atom and each of them, which may be the same or different, individually represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; A represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl group and the term "reactive derivative" means acid halides, azides, acid cyanides, mixed anhydrides, active esters and active amides; whose procedure consists of reacting a compound represented by the general formula (III): **(See formula)** where R2, R3 and A are as defined above, with a compound represented by the general formula (IV): **(See formula)** where Y represents a halogen atom and R5 represents a halogen atom or an ester moiety, in inert solvents, in the presence or absence of an acid accepting agent, at a temperature between -60º and 50ºC and then, if it is desired to convert the group (see formula) into a different reactive derivative on the carboxyl group.
