Abstract
A process for producing a pigment composition comprising azoarylamide, of the formula: ** (See formula) ** where A is an aryl or heterocyclic radical, unsubstituted or substituted; R and R3 are the same or different and each signify hydrogen, an alkyl radical of 1 to 7 carbon atoms, a cycloaliphatic radical of 5 or 6 carbon atoms, an aralkyl radical of 7 or 8 carbon atoms or an aryl radical of 6 to 8 carbon atoms; R1 and R2 are the same or different and each signify hydrogen, an alkyl radical of 1 to 7 carbon atoms, a cycloaliphatic radical of 5 or 6 carbon atoms, an aralkyl radical of 7 or 8 carbon atoms or an aryl radical of 6 to 8 carbon atoms; or R1 and R2, together with the carbon atom to which they are attached, form a cycloaliphatic radical of 5 or 6 carbon atoms; or either of the symbols R1 and R2, together with the substituent R and the nitrogen atom to which it is attached, forms a pentagonal or hexagonal ring; Y is -CO2H or -SO3H and is attached to R, R1, R2 or R3 or directly to the carbon atom bearing these substituents; m is 0 or 1; P is 1 or 2; and n is 1 or 2, with the proviso that the total number of carbon atoms in R, R1, R2 and R3 must be equal to or less than 9, characterized by coupling, under fundamentally aqueous conditions, one or more diazoic or tetraazoic compounds of an amine of the formula A- (NH2) p II in which A and p have the same definition as in claim 1, with one or more first coupling components of the formula B-H III where B is a radical of a coupling component (preferably a radical of pyrazolone or of acetoacetarylamide), all of them unsubstituted or substituted with one or more groups of hydrosolubilizers, and a secondary weight ratio of a second coupling component of the formula ** (See formula) ** where R, R1, R2, R3, Y, m and n have the same definition as in claim 1.
