Abstract
Procedimiento para manejar acero líquido en una artesa refractaria, que presenta buzas en el fondo para verter el acero en un molde de fundición a moldeo continuo, caracterizado porque el procedimiento comprende: cerrar la boca de descarga de la artesa refractaria con una compuerta corredera que tiene un tapón poroso alineado con la boca de descarga; introducir acero líquido en la artesa refractaria ; inyectar gas inerte en el acero de la artesa a través de dicho tapón para agitar el acero mientras que se introduce hasta poco antes de comenzar la colada, finalizar la inyección de gas inerte aproximadamente 15 segundos antes del momento de comenzar la colada, inyectar gas rico en oxígeno a un régimen que puede alcanzar hasta 0,42 metros cúbicos por minuto en el acero de la artesa refractaria a través de dicho tapón durante un periodo que puede llegar hasta 15 segundos inmediatamente después de finalizar la inyección de gas inerte, para recalentar el acero en la región de la boca de descargay eliminar cualquier película solidificada que pudiera haberse formado y abrir inmediatamente la compuerta y verter el acero desde la artesa refractaria al final de la operación de inyectar gas rico en oxigeno.
